Chinese New Year was celebrated on the 13th of February 2010. Kindergarten 2 children at My First Skool Jurong came dressed in their best Chinese New Year costumes!. Their colour code was of course red! Children were involved in a number of hands on activites for example, story telling, lantern making, and glutinous rice balls soup for their high tea.

K2 children were busy folding red packets to make Chinese New Year lanterns.

Tamilmathi was able to glue the edges of the red packets to form a shape of the lantern.

One of the items that the children did was making glutinous rice ball soup for high tea. Samuel, Rui Qi, Nasha and Annice were attempting to roll the glutinous rice into balls.

Nasha and Annice were challenging to see who can finished rolling the rice balls first.

Rui Qi said, ‘I have finished’, showing her rice ball.

Samuel is working very hard to fold in the edges of the rice ball after putting in the red bean filling.
